Everything Discovery 4 & Discovery 5 — In One Place

The Discovery Hub is an independent specialist resource created for Land Rover Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 buyers, owners and sellers.

Our aim is simple: to bring practical Discovery knowledge, buying advice, ownership guidance and specialist support together in one place.

Whether you are researching your first Discovery, comparing a Discovery 4 with a Discovery 5, trying to understand a warning light or common fault, looking for maintenance advice, considering an upgrade or thinking about selling your current Discovery, The Discovery Hub is designed to help.

Why We Created The Discovery Hub

Buying and owning a used Discovery can be confusing.

Two vehicles that appear almost identical in an advert can be very different when you look more closely at their model year, engine, specification, mileage, maintenance history, previous use and preparation.

Owners also face a huge amount of conflicting information online.

One person says a fault is common. Another says it never happens.

One buyer is told to avoid a particular model completely. Another has owned the same model for years without a problem.

The Discovery Hub was created to bring together practical, straightforward information focused specifically on Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 vehicles.

Our aim is not to pretend these vehicles are perfect. It is to help people understand them better.

Built Around Real Discovery Experience

The Discovery Hub is created by HMC, an independent family-owned motor dealer based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. HMC has been trading since 2002.

Through years of buying, preparing and selling used vehicles, Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 models became an increasingly important specialist part of the HMC business.

Today, HMC regularly buys, prepares and sells Discovery vehicles and typically has a substantial selection of Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 models in stock and preparation.

That real-world experience shapes The Discovery Hub. We see Discoveries with different mileages. Different service histories. Different specifications. Different previous uses. And very different preparation requirements.

This has taught us one important lesson:

“A used Discovery should be judged as an individual vehicle — not simply by its age or mileage.”
  • History matters.
  • Condition matters.
  • Previous use matters.
  • Preparation matters.
  • And understanding the known areas of the model matters.

Discovery 4 & Discovery 5 Are Our Main Focus

The Discovery family has a long history, and The Discovery Hub will cover that history where it helps owners and enthusiasts understand how the model evolved.

However, our main specialist and commercial focus is Discovery 4 and Discovery 5. These are the vehicles HMC regularly handles and the models around which the majority of our buyer guides, ownership content, fault information and specialist advice are being developed.

The Discovery 4 has built a loyal following for its practicality, seven-seat flexibility, towing ability and distinctive design.

The Discovery 5 introduced greater refinement, technology and a more modern driving experience while retaining the versatility expected from a Discovery.

Both models have strengths. Both have areas buyers and owners should understand. And both benefit from informed vehicle selection and appropriate preparation.

Straightforward Advice — Including the Difficult Subjects

We believe a specialist resource should discuss more than the good points.

  • We will cover common faults.
  • We will discuss maintenance costs.
  • We will explain known areas worth checking.
  • We will talk about high-mileage vehicles.
  • We will compare model years and specifications.
  • And where our own experience leads us to prefer one model, engine or year over another, we will explain why.

We do not want every article to end with “Buy a car from HMC.” The information should still be useful even if you never buy a vehicle from us.

Our belief is simple. If The Discovery Hub genuinely helps Discovery buyers and owners, people will remember who created it.

The HMC Connection

HMC is the specialist dealership behind The Discovery Hub.

Visitors who are ready to buy can browse HMC's current Discovery stock. Discovery owners considering selling can contact HMC directly. Customers looking for a particular model, colour or specification can use our Find Me a Discovery service. And owners can use The Discovery Hub for practical information throughout their ownership journey.

A Growing Discovery Resource

The Discovery Hub is an ongoing project. We are continuing to build:

Our aim is to create a resource that people discover before buying their Discovery and continue using throughout ownership.

And when the time eventually comes to change or sell their Discovery, we want The Discovery Hub to be the natural place they return to.

Our Aim

“To make LandRoverDiscovery.co.uk the UK's most useful independent Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 resource.”
